February 6~ 1957 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building~ Wednesday, February 6~ 1957 at 1:00 o'c1ook P. M. Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Henderson, Administrative Assistant Sales~ City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seoonded by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Cl aims for the Month Claims Nos. 7343 to 7562 inclusive for the month of January were presented on the various funds as follows: General Street Water SDS Revenue Library Park Cemetery Band Garbage Parking Meter Water Works Planning Police Reserve P. E. R. S. $12,5l3.40 9,702.18 7,893.87 2,238.22 1,268.78 2~926.37 789.80 16.00 2,506.03 l,014.84 28,080.00 2,586.15 616.98 Tot a 1 - - - - $72,152.62 The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the claims in detail by the Commission and checking them with the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their payment, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of January, 1967 were presented: Cashier Electrical Inspector Plumbing Inspector Cemetery Board Fire Chief Sewage Plant Operator Librarian Water Collector Building Inspector It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No~ none. Expenses to Legislature Authorized Co~munication has been received covering proposed legislation which may have serious effect on City revenue bond issues. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to go to Helena to investigate this proposed legislation and, if necessary, do whatever they can to prevent its passage, and that their expense for such travel be paid from the General Fund end the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Notice of Hearing before Public Service Commission Re: Increase in Water Rates Date for hearing before the Public Service Commission on the petition of this City for approval of an increase in water rates has been set for February 14, 1957 at 9:30 A. M. in the Court Room of the Gallatin County Court HOuse. Notices of the hearing have been posted. Building - College and Tenth Avenue - Marquee AI-,proved Plot plans for a business building proposed to be built at College Street and Tenth Avenue were 1 I I presented. Formal application for building permit has not been made but plans show that supporting beams for a marquee along Tenth Avenue would project below the required 10 foot height~ the lowest such projection being ~ feet. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin~ that an exception be made to the ordinance to allow such projection, if and when an apflication is made for a building permit, and 1 the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; tt ose vot ing No~ none. Highway 191 to be put in Good Usable Condition by State Highway Communication was read from the Maintenance Engineer of the State Highway Department stating that bouth Eighth Avenue and College Street that are a part of Highway 191 will be put in good usable condition before said Highway 19l is abandoned. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe~ seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
