The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Ha.ll
Building, Wednesda.y, March 6, 1957 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Swanson. Commissioner
Erwin. Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Henderson, Administrative AssiE'tant Sales, City Attorney LovelA.ce
and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had:

Minutes of the la st regular session were read and it was moved by Commissi oner Erwin, seconded by
Commissioner Lowe, th8t the minutes be aprroved a.s read and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor SWanson~ Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims Nos. 7563 to 7777 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows I

The Manager stated he has audited these clAims and finds tl:em to be true ano lawful daims eg,a:inst
The City of BozemAn and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the
claims in detail by the Commission and checking them with the claim register, it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for
their payment, and the motion WAS carried by the followine; Aye and N0 vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Swensofl, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting: No, none.
Rental Charge on Eagles' Farking Lots - Bozeman & Babcock
A letter wes read from the Fraternal Order of' Eagles, Bozeman Aerie #326, by B. t:. Gossack,
Secretary, accepting the City's offer and confirming the agreement that a.s of March I, 1957 the monthly
rental on the lots owned by their organization at Babcock Street and Bozeman Avenue, which are leased
by the City of' Bozeman for use as a parking lot, shall be *100.00 per month.

It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the reports be accepted

and ordered filed end the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye beirlg
Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Proposed Sub-Division Ordinance
Charles Liquin, City E.'ngineer, met wi th the Commission to di scuss need for an ordinance reg;ula ti tlg
and setting up requirements for sub-divisions and additions to the City. He presented copies of the
Great. Falls Ordinance covering these matters and recommended thet a similar ordinance be adopted by
this City. Copi~s of the Great Falls ordinance were given to each Commissioner for study with the
view of (;iving; it further consideration at the next Commission meeting.

Platting on North Third and Beall Discussed
A strip of unplatted ground facing North Third Avenue approximately 155 feet deep running from
Beall Street to Short Street projected and conunonly referred to as a part of the Border Tract was
discussed. Maurice Jones, who owns ground between Beall and Villard in this strip, has asked if a
plat would be approved of just his property. The Commission advised that a platting of the entire
unFletted area would be more desirable and suggested Jones should seek cooperation of the other
owners in suer. platting.

Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin
and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
