s. 1. 1. D. 388 - Request to Set Ornamental Light Poles in .t'rom Curbs
Charles Poor, C. S. Kenyon, H. E. Thompson, Frank Eaton and Fletcher Hare, owners of properties
abutting on Mendenhall Street in proposed S. I. L. D. #388, appeared before the Commission to request
that the orn~ental light poles to be placed in this proposed lighting district be set in from the
curb in anticipation of future widening of paving in Mendenhall Street. They proposed that the
sidewalk on this street be planned for 8 feet in width which would permit increasing the street width
between curbs a total of 4 feet but would require moving or rebuilding all existing curbs and paving
a two foot strip on each side of the street. They further proposed that this work be spread over a
number of years and paid for by the City as finances of the City permit but the t the street light
poles in the S. I. L. D. now under consideration be set three and one half feet inside of curb line in
anticipation of this possible future widening of the street pavement. The Commission agreed to give
the request further consideration.
