Hedglin - Parking Study April 17, 2017 Bozeman City Commission P O Box 1230 Bozeman MT 59717-1230 RE: Amending B-2M parking requirements Dear Commissioners: We request your acceptance of proposed changes to minimum parking requirements within the B-2M Zoning along N. 7th Avenue. The recent study by Rick Williams Consulting will be presented to you during your May 1 meeting. The Midtown Urban Renewal Board voted as follows during our April 13 meeting concerning the study data: Retail/Office/Mixed Use Three votes in favor of reducing to a zero minimum; Two votes against this zero level but with suggestions of reducing to ½ or 1 minimum per 1,000ft2; Residential All in favor of a 1.25 per dwelling unit minimum; Restaurant, stand-alone All in favor of 5 per 1,000 gross square footage minimum; and Hotel All is favor of .8 per room minimum. We believe redevelopment in our District will be spurred to a higher rate of activity with these reductions in parking requirements, and in turn will both reduce the existing blight and promote infill. We ask for your support in this effort. Sincerely, Scott Hedglin Chair, Midtown Urban Renewal Board
