February 15, 1956 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, February lb, 1956 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe, Administrative Assistant Walter Sales, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were hadl I Minutes of the lest regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Conmissioner Erwin, that these minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Penttila Recommended to Attend Fire School A written communication from Fire Chief McCrosson was read, stating it is his recommendation that William Penttile., Assistant Fire Chief, attend the Fire School at Oklahoma A & M, and that Charles Masten is his recommendation as an alternate. The cost for this training at the school will be approximately $278.45. After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that it being in the public interest, that one of the members of the Fire Department recommended by Fire Chief McCrosson be authorized to attend the Fire School at Oklahoma A & M, April 23rd to 27th, 1956, and his expenses be paid from the General Fund, and the motion was carried by the following Aye end No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Claims ~. Claims Nos. 4634 and 4635 of Nash-Davis Machinery Company for repair on city equipment in the I amounts of $308.79 and $732.62 respectively were presented. After examination of the claims, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Request for Reserved Parking Spaces It was reported that the Gallatin County Sheriff would like to have two additional parkin.g stalls on Main Street at his office. It was stated that provisions for additional parking in the rear of the building is planned this spring. It was decided to wait until this parking space is provided before additional space is given up on Main Street. Resignation -- E. Bartholomew from Adjustment Board The written resignation of Elmer Bartholomew as a member of the Board of Adjustment was read. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the resignation be accepted, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Plans for Trailer Court Plans for a Trailer Court at 1207 East Main to be constructed for Clyde Cox were presented. I This location is in an unzoned area, and there being no objection to the plans as presented, the Building Inspector stated that a permit would be issued for the construction. Addi tlonal Charge for Sewer & Water Connections The matter of the additional cost for sewer and water connections made during the season of the year that the ground is frozen was considered. It was reported that after discussing the matter wi th the Engineer and the Water Superintendent, it is recommended that the regular del-osi t be made and if the applicant wants the service connection installed during this season, he be billed for the addi- tional cost. 10!) 110 Filing Plats of Sub-Divisions Outside City Limits Problems arising from the recording of sub-divisions within three miles of the City Limits without the written approval of the Director of Publio Service were disoussed.
