The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 1955 at l;OO o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe.
Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the
Clerk. when the following proceedings were had;
1 Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded
by Commissioner Swanson. that these minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Swanson;
those voting No, none.
TV Cable on Telephone Poles
Mr. Norman Penwell. of the Bozeman Community Television, Inc., appeared before the Commission
relative to use of poles on Olive Street, between Tracy and Seventh Avenues. on which his company's
community antenna cable is carried. These poles are owned by the Mountain States Telephone Company
and that company has put its lines along this street underground and will be ready soon to remove the
poles. Mr. Penwell requested that his company be permitted to leave their cable on these poles on a
temporary basis for not to exceed one year to enable them to either re-route it or to I-ut it under-
ground. Mr. Penwell was instructed to present his proposal in writing and was informed that the
proposal should properly came from him through the Telephone Company.
Claims for Month

The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims
against The City of Bozeman and reconmends that warrants be issued for their payment. After examination
of the claims in detail by the Commission and checking against the Claim Register, it was moved by
Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants drawn
for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No. none.

The following reports for the month of November, 1955 were presented;

It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Swanson. tha t the reports be accepted

It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the resolution be passed

Schedule of Rates for New Water Services
A revised schedule of requi.red deposits and charges for installation of new water services, as
recommended by the City Engineer, was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by
Commissioner Erwin, that the schedule be approved and become effeotive immediately and the motion was
carried by the following Aye end No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin,
Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none.
Report on Conference with Highway and Board of Health Officials
City Manager Henderson reported on his conference in Helena on December 5th with State Highway
and Board of Health officials. As to right-of-way width on East Main Street, it is recommended that
application be made to have this street section "programed" so that it is eligible ibr Federal Aid.
The Highway Department can then IIl8.ke a detailed survey of the project and. on the basis of "that sur-
vey. take necessary action to make the right-of-way of uniform width. As to harvesting timber in the
Bozeman Creek watershed, Board of Health officials indicate that they approve and will assist in
every way they can to set up the plans for such timber cutting.
Plan Board Recommendations
Wal ter Sales, Clerk of the Plan Board. made an inforJlli\l report on the meeting of that Board held I
on December 5th at which a number of recommendations were adopted for presentation to the City
Commission. Mr. Sales was instructed to have these recommendations put in written memorandum form so
that they can be given detailed study and consideration by the Commission.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by
Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye end No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin,
Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none.
