HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-11-17 Public Comment (2) - Z. Mchugh - Black OliveI attended the last meeting and was not able to speak because of the large number of other folks who wanted to publicly oppose this project. Unfortunately, i had to leave town on a last minute work trip and can't attend the meeting tonight. I was at the meeting last week until 1030 and wasn't able to speak. I opted to speak the following week but work has taken over. I have lived in Bozeman since 2006 when I moved here attend college at MSU. I strongly oppose this project for a number of reasons. 1 - there is no transition between the B3 and the R2. There's no alley, no street. The balconies of the proposed black and olive project will be towering over the neighboring single family homes. This is extremely invasive and again provides no transition between the different zoning laws 2 parking- there is an obvious parking problem in bozeman and implementing a ride share program with this kinda step is going to fail. The single units will most likely have couples rent these and most likely they will both have cars. With Heebs moving, there is no downtown grocery store. I don't see old folks or anyone for that matter walking to safeway or the new heebs location. 3 although the developer satifsys the letter of the law, he doesn't satisfy the intent. I think the design and review board recognizes this. What's the point of having a design and review board if you're not going to listen to them? PLEASE VOTE NO on back and olive. There is room for compromise with a 3 story building with adequate parking for each unit. Thanks for your time and consideration Zack McHugh
