I am writing to voice my support for the efforts afoot to transition the existing Industrial TIF district
located in the North Park area into a Urban Renewal District (URD). Given the changing dynamics within
TIF statute as well as the shift in the types of industrial uses I feel that the proposed URD will be the best
and most fruitful going forward. This area has sat fallow for so many years and is on the verge to capture
the very best of what Bozeman can become through the use of urban renewal. Industrial uses are the
very backbone of our jobs creation here in Bozeman and the changing face of these types of uses to
include live/work units and other housing opportunities will benefit our community needs greatly. The
creation of an urban renewal district in this area will allow for the promotion and of housing along with
a key focus of jobs creation. Truly the best of both worlds!
I encourage you all to endorse and proceed with the efforts needed to create this district.
