Issued under the authority of Professional Services Master Task Order Agreement between the City of
Bozeman and DOWL for: Professional and technical services for engineering design, preparation of
construction documents, project bidding, and construction administration services for various
stormwater improvement projects within the City of Bozeman
This Task Order is dated March 24 2017 between City of Bozeman (City) and DOWL
(Contractor).
The following representatives have been designated for the work performed under this Task Order:

SCOPE OF WORK:
See attached E=BITA-Task Order #3 —Scope of Services dated March 24, 2017
COMPENSATION:
Contractor shall be reimbursed on a lump sum basis in the amount of $ 41,075.00 . Contractor shall
invoice no more often than monthly for services provided in the prior month.
The provisions of the Professional Services Master Task Order Agreement and any Special Terms and
Conditions and/or Exhibits or Attachments to this Task Order shall govern the Work.

Subject: I Bozeman Stormwater Term Contract: Task Order #3 Scope of Services
Task Order #3 — Downtown Separator Units
The following tasks will be undertaken by DOWL in its design of separator units on the City of Bozeman's
stormwater collection system between Main Street and the alley north of Main Street on N 3rd, N Grand, N
Willson, and N Tracy Avenues. Any item not specifically discussed or as otherwise noted are assumed to be
a City of Bozeman (COB) responsibility or beyond the services identified in this scope.
Task 100 — Project Management & Data Collection
1. Compile and review previous stormwater modelling completed by DOWL.
2. DOWL will survey two of the downtown sites for utility locations and topographic information (N 3rd
and N Tracy Aves), the City will provide existing survey data for the two remaining sites (N. Grand
and N Willson Aves).
3. Project siting meeting with owner.
4. Convert survey into AutoCAD Civil3D format.
5. Project Management.
Task 110— Preliminary Design & Hydraulic Evaluation
1. Update stormwater model as necessary to evaluate potential treatment devices. Modeling will be
limited to the project drainage basin.
2. Evaluate site alternatives with different layouts and bypass structures (if required).
3. Identify any potential flooding hazards associated with the installation of the treatment devices.
4. Identify design event for the stormwater treatment device.
5. Evaluate utility conflicts.
6. Prepare a memorandum summarizing the drainage basin treated, hydraulic performance, design
storm, treatment devices suitable for placement in the downtown sites.
7. Preliminary engineer's cost estimate
8. Review meeting with City to determine recommended alternative.

Task 120— Final Design
Based on comments received during preliminary design, DOWL will finalize the construction drawings and
specifications. The plans and specifications will be given to the City of Bozeman to put out for bid.
1. Plan set predicted to include the following:
a. General sheets including cover page, general notes and survey control
b. Demolition plan
c. Potential utility relocate design
d. Plan and profile sheets for the treatment system
e. Erosion control plan
f. Details
g. Surface restoration plan
2. Technical Specifications
3. QA/QC
Submittals: Final Design Package
1. Final Construction Drawings and Specifications
Task 200—Bidding and Contract Award Phase
1. Answer questions from potential contractors and suppliers.
2. Review submittals from the successful bidder
3. Attend a pre -construction meeting.
4. Assist contractor in obtaining City of Bozeman Stormwater Permit(s)
Task 300 — Pre -Construction Phase
1. Coordinate with Contractor layout and grades for proposed stormwater improvements. DOWL will
work with the contractor to establish the horizontal and vertical positions of the improvements
taking into account existing utilities, future maintenance and ease of construction.
2. DOWL will review Contractor submittals.
3. Attend Pre -construction meeting.
Task 400— Part -Time Inspection
1. DOWL will provide part-time inspection during construction of the stormwater improvements to
monitor that construction is in compliance with the project plans and specifications. All existing
utilities will be surveyed for final as -built drawings.
2. Daily inspection reports will be completed with accompanying photos and routed to the City
Stormwater Division
Task 500—As-Built Drawings and Close-out
1. DOWL will compile surveyed information taking during construction and complete updated 'as -built'
drawings, and deliver plans as detailed in the Engineering Department's "Design Standards and
Specifications Policy." (2 full-size paper copies, 1 reproducible copy and 1 digital copy)

2. DOWL will participate in a final inspection with the Contractor and City, as well as a two-year
warrantee walk-through.
3. DOWL will submit the City's required documentation detailed in the Engineering Department's
"Design Standards and Specifications Policy"
Schedule: DOWL can begin work on the project immediately; this schedule assumes a mid-April start date:

Compensation:
DOWL proposes to complete this project on a lump sum basis in the amount of $41,075 which will be
invoiced monthly based on the percent complete for each of the aforementioned tasks.
Exclusions:
DOWL will rely on existing base mapping provided by the City for the Willson and Grand Avenue sites and
does not anticipate having to perform any additional topographic survey for these areas. This scope also
excludes any review or permitting fees that may apply.
