Based on what I know about the project from what I have read in the paper, I think approval of
the Black - Olive project is essential to keeping downtown vibrant.
The choice seems simple to me, accommodate people and promote density and proximity to
downtown, or accommodate cars and parking that ends up becoming the nightmare of 19th
with massive parking lots and endless sprawl.
On another note, College Street West of MSU may be the most over designed and engineered
street improvement in the country. It should be studied in Civil Engineering text books for how
not to improve a street. Bozeman seems to think a left turn lane is mandatory for every
possible situation.
