Reque s ts -- Sheriff D. B. Skerritt, Director of Civil Defense
During the October 2Sth meeting of the Commission, Sheriff D. B. Skerr1tt,
Director of Civil Defense for Gallatin County, appeared to request that the City
waive the regular permit fee when issuing a bui~ding permit for the construction of
home fall-out shelters and to limit the use of the siren on the City Ha~l to that of
a unit of the civil defense waming system. rather than..that of a fire alarm signal. I
The Commission again considered the requests, but in view ot the pending City
building program and numerous contingencies which eould very possibly arise in
connection with fall-out shelter construction. for which the permit fees are con-
sidered negligible, it was deemed proper to again defer action on the requests.
