HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-01-18 . :U,7 Bozeman, Montana Janua ry 18, 1961 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, Ja.nuary 18, 1061 at 1:00 o'clook p.m. Preaon t were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, I Asa't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minu tes of the laa t regular session were read and 1 t was moved by Commissioner Sedi vy, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No.vote: Those voting Aye be- ing Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissloner Staudaher; those voting No, none. Application -- City Beer License - Buttreys Food, Inc. An application submitted by Buttreys Food, Inc. requesting a City beer license was presented to the Commission. The application was accompanied by the required llcense fee of $200.00, and the City Manager recommended that the license be issued. It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, tha t the Director of Finance be directed to issue the license and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Relocation of Greyhound Bus Depot at Bozeman Hotel I C. W. Spa r ks , Greyhound Bus agent, and Dr. R. G. Bayles, proprietor of the Bozeman Hotel, appeared before the Commission to request permission to move the Greyhound Bus Depot from its present location to the Bozeman Hotel. The City Manager reported that in the event the request was granted, the parking meters on the west side of North Rouse between Main and Mendenhall streets would be removed to provide suitable parking for the buses during stops. After discussing the matter with Mr. Sparks and Dr. Ba"les it was moved by Comrnissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commis- .) , sioner Staudaher, that the request be granted contingent upon the City-County Heal th Officer's approval of the sani ta tion facilities a t the premi.ses and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votine-Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No, none. Application -- Federal Participation for Airport Project Howard Nelson representing the Gallatin Field Airport Board and Edwin Iverson, manager of the field, appeared before the Commission to request that the City complete the formal applicatlon for an allotment of Federal funds to parti~ipate in the general I improvements to Gallatin Field, Federal Aid Airport projec t No. $,..;24-U03-05, (Recon- struction of the main runway). It was moved by Commissloner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, tha t, as reques ted, the Mayor and the City Attorney be authorized to sign for the City to complete the application. The following reports for the month of December, 196U were presented: Director of Public Service Sani ta tion Cemetery Water Collector I Chief of Police (Annual) The Ci ty Manager s tR. ted tha t the reports appeared to be in order and reco- mmended that they be approved. It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Connnissloner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Fire Insurance -- Blanket Policy System Kirke Frantz, local insurance agent, appeared before the Commission to discuss the matter of the City's policy concerning the blanket system of insuring City owned property. Members of the Commission requested Mr. Frantz to a ttend the meeting of the Commission to be held February 15th, 1961 for further discussion of the ma tter. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this tlme, it was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Gommissioner Sedivy, that the I meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedi vy; those voting No, none. .
