I oppose the addition of a full liquor license at the Bozeman Taproom and I would have opposed
the existence of the Taproom if it had initially sought to serve hard alcohol. Its proximity to
Hawthorne School is just too close. During the warmer months the consumption of alcohol is in
plain view of half the classrooms at the school.
The intent of the state law is clearly to keep bars from existing directly across the street from a
school, no matter what their address.
