Message: We are proud of our 104 year old home located on W. Olive. We have worked hard to restore
and renovate it to its original charm and beauty. In that process we were informed there are certain
standards we must abide by due to living in the historic district. For example, our new windows had to
match previous style. The SoBo building will be less than 300 feet from our home and doesn’t seem to
follow any historic style. Its approval wipes out any historic value that our area has to offer. Two other
reasons for concern are the traffic and transitory neighbors who will reside in the SoBo building. Parking
is already limited, and on weekends, with three bars in the area, it's worse. The traffic study didn't seem
comprehensive. It leaves out any mention of the two main streets affected and wants to make an
alleyway into a makeshift road. For these reasons, I ask for an appeal of the SoBo project. Tacking on an
$8,576.00 fee for an appeal is a burden on my democratic rights to be heard.
