Message: I was disappointed in yesterday's front page section C pitting Hawthorne School
against the taproom. It's not the schools job to fight this fight. The commissioners should be
denying the permit.It seems to me the State requires 600 feet from school and our city
commissioners gave a "conditional use permit" to the taproom? The commissioners should be
protecting us, the citizens from the people requesting variances like this. You can stand on the
property line of the taproom and see the school. There should not have been a variance issued. I
enjoy that most alcohol outlets are in our downtown, but there is not a need to have one close to
