Message: We are Hawthorne parents since 2005, and we strongly oppose the Bozeman
Taproom's application for a hard liquor license. The bar's lack of consideration for the legal
intent to thoroughly separate drinking, and more so heavy drinking, from a school, and even
more so from an elementary school(!), by 600 feet - when their rooftop bar sits in plain view,
within earshot(!) of my son's fourth grade classrom looking straight out the window at that
rooftop bar - should prevent their receiving an increase in their patron's ability to get drunk
faster, so that their drunken laughs can be heard far more clearly on Hawthorne's front lawn,
right across the street, 20 feet away. They snuck this drinking-intended establishment in the
summer, probably because they got a deal they thought was "a bargain", and probably because
they thought they "could get away with it." Shame. And disgust. Reject their application, please.
