Please reject the Black Olive development. I live and work downtown and feel the size and
scope of the project is inconsistent with the neighborhood. The proposed building will dwarf
the historic Blackmore apartments and completely destroy the feel of the neighborhood on
south Black and South Bozeman.
While I absolutely do support additional development in the downtown area I feel any
development should be consistent with the character and quality of the neighborhood. The
proposed building will look like a typical airport hotel outside of Cedar Rapids Iowa. Better than
the original design, but still an eyesore.
Further, to be honest, allowing the building as it is currently planned amounts in my mind to a
taking in that property values for the adjacent jones will be dramatically reduced. I imagine the
adjacent and nearby property owners are likely to file lawsuits to recover the loss in value of
their homes.
