Bozeman, Montana November 9, 1960 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, November 9, 1960 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, -I Ass't. City Manager Frysiie, City Attorney Lovelace and Acting City Clerk Shadoan. '. The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the fo1iowing ~e and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner SedivYj those voting No, none. Proposed Lighting District -- Block liD", Marwyn Add'n. The petition requesting a special iighting district in Block "D" of the Marwyn Addition was fUrther considered. The petition requested 10,000 lumen iights on the poles, while the present lip,hting in this vicinity is 6,000 lumen on each pole. Con'" sideration was given to the additional cost to the property owners and the city for the greater size lumen lights, and it was decided to make a further study of the need and cost of the different size lights before action is taken on this petition. Airport -- Long Range Planning of Northwest Air Lines Mr. Guy Sperry of the Chamber of Commerce appeared to request that the City write a letter to Frank Wylie, Director of the Montana Aeronautic Administration, urging him I to confer in MinneapOlis with the Northwest Air Lines officials in an effort to determine - what their long range planning may be for plane stops and service for Gallatin Field. It was agreed such a letter would be written. Purchase of t ton Truck -- Street Department The bid of the Mountain Machinery Company received at the meeting of November 2, 1960 for a i ton - 4 x 4 truck was further cons idered. It was moved by Commissioner Sedi vy , seconded by Commissioner ~taudaher, that the bid be accepted, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaherj those voting No, none. 0 Reports The following reports for the Month of October, 1960 were presented: Fire Chief Disposal Plant Operator Librarian Police Chief Building Inspector Police Judge Sanitarian and the following reports for the month of September, 1960 : Director of Finance Director of Public Service I It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed, and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner SedivYj those voting No, none. Plumbing & Gas Fitter's Bond -- Ernest Dennis Lutes The plumbing bond and gas fitter's bond of Ernest Dennis Lutes were presented. The bonds were approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the bonds be approved and accepted, :l1.0 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Zoning -- West of Eleventh Avenue in New High School'" Buttrey Addition Zoning of the new High School - Buttrey Addition, the area west of Eleventh Avenue brought into the City on November 2, 1960, as recommended by the bozeman City-County Planning Board was reviewed and discussed with action deferred for further I~ study. Proposed Ordinance Adopting New Codification A proposed ordinance for adoption of the Ordinance Codification prepared by the Book Publishing Company, who are recodifying the city ordinances, was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy that the ordi- nance be referred to the City Attorney with the authority to approve or disapprove the ordinance, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Proposed Ordinance for Montana Power Company Franchise A proposed ordinance for granting the Montana power Company a gas franchise, if approved by city electors was presented and discussed. Changes considered advis- able were discussed, and these changes will be brought to the attention of the Montana Power Company officials. Bid Security for Purchase of S.I.D. No. 418 Bonds to be Reduc ed . A request from ~rande & Company, purchaser of Special Improvement District I No. 418 bonds, was read asking that after delivery and payment of the first $70,000.00 of the $250,000.00 of 3.I.D. No. 418 bonds has been made their bid security now on file in amount of $5,000.uO be reduced to $3,500.00. It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the request be granted and approved, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaner and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. City Officials Authorized to Attend Meeting of League A meeting of the Legislative and Executive Committee of the Montana Municipal. League will be held in Helena, Montana on ~hursday, November 17th, 1.960. I t we s moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City Manager, Ass' t. Ci ty Manager and members of the Ci ty ConuTllssion be authorized to attend this meeting, and their expenses be paid from the General Fund, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
