The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis-
sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, June l, 1960 at 1:00 o'clock p.m..
Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City
I- Manager Cutting, Ass't. Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk.
- The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session ~ere read and it was moved by Commis-
sioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, tha t the minu te s be approved
as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those
vo ting No, none.
Ordinanoe No. 822 - Petition Requesting the Ordinance be Submitted to a Vote
of Electors
A peti tior;;;ti1ed with the Clerk of the City CommisSion, May 25th, 1960,
requesting the City Commission to refer Ordinance No. 822 to a vote of the electors
was delivered to the Commission, and the Clerk stated that the petition lacked the
required certificates of the circulators. However, the City Commission proceeded
to reconsider the ordinance, and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by
Commissioner Staudaher, that, as a matter of public policy, the ordinance be
submitted to a vote of the electors and the Clerk of the Commission directed to
I proceed to institute the action necessary to place the measure before the electors
of the City of Bozeman at the coming General Election, Nov. 8th, 1960, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No, none.
Petition -- Close Lincoln Street
The petition to olose a portion of Lincoln Street was again considered and
.
action on the matter was deferred for further study of the status of the Montana
Power Company's high voltage power line now occupying this street.
Contract on Swimming Pool Boiler & Alternates -- Change Order No.2
Change Order No.2 to plans and specifications incorporated in the contract

awarded F. L. Dye Co. for the restoration of the Swimming Pool Boiler Room and
Al terna tes was presented providing for the ins talla tion of a new 3" motorized
steam valve for the water heating system at an additional cost of $265.00. It
was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Bedivy, that the
Change Order be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commie-
1 sioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Request -- Repulican pre-rally Parade, June 4th
A request received from the Republican Party of Gal~atin County to hold a
pre-rally parade at apprOXimately 7:00 o'clock p.m. on Main and Babcock Streets,
June 4th, 1960, was presented. Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, it

request be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:

Request -- Sidewalk Bazaar, July 15, 1960
A request received from the Retail Committee of the Chamber of Commerce to
stage a sidewalk bazaar on Main Street, Friday, July 15th, was presented. I twas I
moved by CommisSioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the request
be granted and the motion was carried by the folloWing Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, 6ommissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy;
those voting No, none.
Annual Convention of Montana Municipal League, June 9-11, 1960
Notice has been received that the Annual Convention 0 f the Montana Municipal
League will be held at Helena, Montana, June 9-11, 1960. Upon the request of the
City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Staudaher, that, it being in the public interest, the Mayor, Members of the Commis-
sion and the City Manager be authorized to attend this Convention and the necessary
expenses of the delegates incurred to attend this convention be paid out of the
General fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher;
those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this t1me, I
it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner staudaher, tha t the
meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner
