Message: Dear Bozeman Commissioners, On the 22nd of march, a friend of mine who is a
Korean adoptee, was targeted with verbal threats. A group in a vehicle told him to "go back
where he came from" told him to "fuck off" and that they were "making America great again". It
is with profound disgust that I also must tell you that his call to the Bozeman Police Department
was dismissive, and condescending. Steve Olp has grown up in Montana, I met him when we
attended the same grade school together in 1990. He has always been hard working and
entrepreneurial. It fills me with shame to see xenophobic speech spew from the mouth of our
commander in chief. It is inexcusable that his speech is being used to bolster the kind of incident
of which my friend has been a victim. I urge you to also contact law enforcement agencies to
take instances of racial profiling seriously, and for fines to be increased regarding hate speech
