HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-21-17 Public Comment - V. Thompson - Black OliveDear City Commission:
From 1974, when my husband Jim and I moved to Bozeman, until 1978, when we bought our
house, we lived in the Blackmore Apartments, directly to the north of Andy Halloran's proposed
Black & Olive project. Even in those days, parking around the city's central core was sometimes
scarce; and of course the cars of 40 years ago were generally smaller than those driven today. So
it's difficult to imagine how the neighborhood adjacent to Black and Olive might absorb the
vehicules that would certainly accompany a five story building with 56 units, plus a coffee shop,
given that the project calls for fewer than one parking space per appartment.
In addition, I would like to join the chorus of sceptics who question the building's size, scale,
level of quality, and level of permanence. Now over 100 years old, the Blackmore has proved to
be a lovely addition to our city. The Black & Olive project: I very much doubt it.
Sincerely,
Vicky Thompson
