HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-19-17 Public Comment - M. Scherer - Black OliveI am writing to voice my concerns about the Black/Olive project. Having read all 54 pages of the
design review, I find it incredible that this project would even be considered. Bozeman and its
historic districts are what have attracted people to want to come here to live for years! And
now we are going to allow some one to come in and wall off the unique qualities we have
fought so hard to keep all these years!
PARKING people...it's PARKING! Does this man actually think that anyone who rents these
apartments will not come with one or even two cars? And who gets to park off the street in the
30 odd spots he has so graciously provided? The one who pays the most rent? And where does
he think they are going to get their groceries, get to the mountains for the very reason people
move here. There are no grocery stores close by, the hospital is a DRIVE, the list goes on and
on!
My property is four houses to the south of this project and I will be seeing it every time I look
up!
The only saving grace I have in front of my home on South Black is that there is no parking on
our side of the street. Already there is a constant problem for people parking to work and shop
downtown.
Please try to put yourselves in the homes that surround this controversial project and demand
that this man honor the Bozeman we love and want to protect. Maybe make him live right next
to it and see the value of his property decrease.
