HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-17-17 Public Comment - S. Titus - Black OliveHello,
I am sending comments in regards to the Black-Olive Project. I am concerned that Andy
Holloran and Home Base are using our rules against us to make money and not worry how the
development he is proposing will impact those of us who live in the neighborhood. Since the
neighborhood is in 3 different areas of consideration, downtown, B3 and NCOD there is room
for many interpretations to the rules. I understand we want more density downtown, but the
location Mr. Holloran is developing will not support the density he is proposing.
My top concern is the parking. On Black Ave. we only have parking on one side and I have a
house with 3 dwellings in it. We have approved off street parking, but many times visitors to the
house need to park a block or 2 blocks away because there is no parking available in front of the
house. There is also a severe problem in the alley parking with people squeezing in spots for
parking, making it tight for everyone and sometimes double parking of cars. If Mr. Holloran
doesn't deal with the parking issue we the neighbors will be paying the price long after Mr.
Holloran has taken his money to the bank and left.
Mr. Holloran has also ignored the DRB recommendation that the building be integrated into the
neighborhood and he hasn't moved on that requirement. The building is to large and over
bearing to integrate in the neighborhood. If he dropped the number of dwellings in his building
it would not only integrate better in the neighborhood, but also alleviate many of the parking
concerns.
We the people of the city are setting a precedent on this building. Let's make sure we do what is
best for the city of Bozeman and all of it's people. Say no to this development until Mr. Holloran
becomes a true neighbor and thinks of others.
Thanks,
Steve Titus
