The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission
Room, City Hall building, Wednesday, January 13, 1960 at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Present
were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager
I Cu tting, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The folloWing proceedings were had:
,f Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye be-

none.
Police Reserve Fund - Investment
Director of Finance L. G. Shadoan reported that the $36,500.00 of Police
Reserve Funds inves ted in U.S. Government Series "G" and "K" bonds could be re-
deemed and $35,000.00 of the fund be invested in U.S. Treasury Notes and Bonds
bearing higher interest rates as follows:
$lS,OOO.ou of 4-3/4% U.S. Treas. Notes due 5/15/64
15,000.00 of 4% U.S. Treas. Bonds due 10/1/69
5,000.00 of 3-7/8% U.S. Treas. Bonds due 11/15/74
Such an investment would result in a net gain of return on investment of
apprOXimately $504.00 per year. City Manager Cutting recommended that the Director
of Finance be authorized to complete the above transaction and it was moved by
I Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, that the foregoing re-
commendation be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner
Staudaher; those voting No, none.
Cemetery Permanent Care FUnd - Inves tment
Director of Finance L. G. Shadoan reported that $121,000.00 of the Cemetery
Permanent Care FUnds now invested in U.S. Government Series "K" bonds could be
redeemed and these Permanent Care Funds be invested in U.S. Treasury Notes and Bonds
bearing higher interest rates as follows:
$40,000.00 in U.S. Treas. Notes 4-3/4% due 5/15/64
40,000.00 in U.S. Treas. Bonds 4% due 10/1/69
40,000.00 in U.S. Treas. Bonds 3-7/8% due 11/15/74
Such an investment would result in a net gain of return on investment of
apprOXimately $1,700.00 per year. City Manager Cutting recommended that the
Director of Finance be authorized to complete the above transaction and it was
moved by CommisSioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Director
of Finance complete the transaction as outlined and the motion was carried by the
I following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner
Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports were presented:
Sanitary Inspector Cemetery Director of Public Works
It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, that
the reports be approved and filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye

Report of State Examiner
The report of the annual examination of the records of the City made during the
month of November, 1959 by the State Examiner was placed before the Commission. The
Commission reviewed the report and it was moved by Commissioner Staudaher, seconded I.
by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City Attorney be directed to forward the regular L
acknowledgement to the State Examiner's office at Helena and the report be filed and
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Gallatin Field Airport - Report of State Examiner
The Commission reviewed a copy of the State Examiner's report of the Gallatin
Field Airport. It was directed that the report be brought to the attention of the
members of the Board appointed by the City for review and then be filed.
Resolution- HHFA, Project No. Mont. 24-P-3081, Sewer Facilities
Due to supplemental information requested by the City in regard to "HHFA, Project
No. Mont. 24-P-3081, Sewerage System Improvement" having been submitted by Harold
Hoskins and Associates, Engineers, the action of the Commission at its regular meet-
ing November 4, 1959 was rescinded. To now accept and give final approval of the
above mentioned planning project the following resolution was presented.
Whereas, The City of Bozeman, Montana accepted an offer from
the United States Government for an advance for preparation of I
planning documents pertaining to a public work described as
Expansion and Extension of the City's Sewerage System.
Whereas, Harold Hoskins and Associates were engaged to prepare
the Planning Documents for the aforesaid public work, and said
architect and/or engineer has completed the documents and sub-
mitted them for approval; and
Whereas, the completed planning documents have been carefully
s ttldied and are cons ide red to comprise adequa te planning of
the public work essential to the community and within the finan-
cial ability of the The City of Bozeman, Montana to construct;
Now, Therefore, be it resolved by The City Commission the Govern-
ing body of said applicant, that the planning documents sub-
mitted by Harold Hoskins and Associates as the basis for (X)
detailed planning ( ) construction of the sewerage system expan-
sion and improvement date Jan. 13, 196U, in connection with
Housing and Home Finance Agency Project No. 24-P-3081 be and the
same are hereby approved; and that certified copies of this
resolution be filed with the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
It was moved by Commissioner Sed1~1, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, that
the Commission approve the resolution as set forth and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner
Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No, none.
"Jaycee Week" I
Mayor Swanson proclaimed the week of January 17th-23rd, 196U to be
"Jaycee Week".
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time,
it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, that the
meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
