HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-01-04 188 Bozeman, Montana January 4, 1960 This being the time designated by law (Section 11-3249, R. C. M. 1947) and Sec- tion 6 of Ordinance No. 524 for the organization of the City Commission in accordance with the results of the Regular Minicipal Election held November 3rd, 1959, the City Commission met at 10:00 o'clock A. M., January 4th, 1960, in the Commission Room, City I Hall Building for organization purposes and the transaction of unfinished business. Present were Mayor ErWin, Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Berg, Commissioner-elect Staudaher, Commissioner-elect Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk. Copies of minutes of the last regular meeting held on December 30, 1959 having been furnished to each member of the Commission and read in detail by them, it was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that these minutes be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor ErWin, Commissioner Berg and Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Claims for the Month of December, 1959 , Claim No's. 6881 to 7116 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Band :IIi 27.00 Cemetery :IIi 1,146.41 Garbage 4,362.16 General 15,189.35 Library 1,854.28 Park 3,785.71 Parking Meter 1,062.59 Planning Board 20.00 SDS Revenue 18,315.98 SID 81,774.87 Street 4,992.95 Water 11,573.86 Police Reserve 528.80 I Total $144,633.96 The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be issued for their payment. After examination of the claims in detail and checking against the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Reorganization This having concluded old business to be brought before the Commission, Mayor Erwin presented a letter from W. W. Lessley, District Judge, stating that official bonds of Fred M. Staudaher and Ed P. Sedivy, duly elected City Commissioners for the City of Bozeman for four-year terms commencing January 4, 1960, have been approved by him as to form and content and are on file at the of'fice of the County Clerk and Recorder. Retiring Mayor Erwin turned his chair over to incoming Mayor Swanson, and Fred I. M. Staudaher and Ed P. Sedivy took their seats as City Commissioners.
