HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-02-11 'l'l ,- ,- Bozeman, Montana February 11, 1959 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, February 11, 1959 at 1:00 0' clock P.' M. Present were Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Berg, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had; I Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following .Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Reports The report of the Cemetery Board for the month of January, 1959 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye bein~ Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. An audit of the records of the Yellowstone Fine Company covering the cost of oonstruction of the pioneer road to Mystic Lake was presented. The audit was held over for further study. Claim for Copper Pipe Claim No. 4074 in the net wmount of $3,745.29 for the copper pipe from the Co-op Lead and Chemical Company was presented. It was recommended by the City Manager that this claim be paid at this time to take advantage of the 2% disoount offered for its prompt payment. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the claim be approved and a warrant issued for its payment I and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Report on Annual Meeting of Reservoir Company City Manager Henderson reported on the annual meeting of the Bozeman Creek Reservoir Company which was held Februa~ 9, 1959. At that meeting the stockholders took official action in stating it to be their intent and purpose, during the summer of 1959, to haul necessary materials to Mystic Lake and to make such repair or replacement of the spillway and to other parts of the dam as may be recommended by the U. S. Forest Service this work to include construction of an adequate device to measure water as it is taken out of Mystic Lake. Changes to Ordinance No. 768 - Parking Prohibited on Certain Streets The matter of prohibiting parking at all times on certain streets was considered. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the City Manager be instructed to publish notice and cause the following streets to be added to Sohedule VII, Section 168, of Ordinanoe No. 768: The east side of South Black Avenue between Olive Street and College Street The south side of West Koch Street between Third Avenue and Eighth Avenue The south side of Garfield Street between Willson Avenue and Fifth Avenue The south side of East Sto~ Street between Church Avenue and Tracy Avenue The south side of College Street between Tracy Avenue and South Eighth Avenue ".", The east side of South Grand Avenue between College Street and Arthur Street and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Trailer Court - 701 N. Rouse - Ordered Discontinued Further discussion of the trailers at 701 North Rouse Avenue was had. A letter, dated December 17, 1958, from the State Board of Health, relative to this situation was reviewed. Based on that :It letter and on existing circumstances, the Commission concluded that present use of this property as rental space for two or more trailer houses constitutes operation of a trailer court. The Ci ty Manager was instructed to inform the owner, Mrs. Rose Story, that the present use of this property as a trailer court must be discontinued.
