Dear City of Bozeman Department of Community Development, MMUNITY D�
I am unable to attend today's Development Review Committee meeting discussing the new
Bozeman Sports Park on Baxter and Flanders Mill.
I am writing to ask that the City consider using the public land on the south side of Baxter Lane
for planned road expansion.
In June 2016, we were approached by Dowl Inc. who, acting on behalf of the city, began the
process of acquiring property from us for Baxter Lane road expansion. After a 5 month process
during which we were kept minimally informed, the city decided it did not have the funds to
proceed with the acquisition, but indicated that the plan is still on the City's 5 year agenda.
As it stands, we do not want to sell our land and the City cannot afford to purchase it. In my
opinion and that of everyone I have discussed the situation with, it would be intuitive, fiscally
responsible, and basically just practical, for the city to use the public land on the south side of
Baxter Lane for it's road expansion. Please consider this as the plan before the park is
finalized.
