1. Project Description
Tell us about the type and scale of the development. Tell us why you want to redevelop a property along N. 7th Avenue
and how your project reduces the blighted condition of the property (not to exceed 1 typed page). 2. Technical Assistance
If applying for a Technical Assistance Grant, please provide the accreditations and building design/site development
experience of the professional assisting the property owner.
3. Site Plan & Renderings and Elevations
These should be the same plans submitted for Site/Sketch Plan review to the Planning Department. Please provide
enough copies for each Board Member (11x17 versions are acceptable)
4. Total Project Cost Estimates
Please include the total project cost estimate, with supporting independent bid documents. Two cost estimates are
required for all eligible activities for which the applicant seeks funding. Use N7Rehab Cost Estimate work sheet(s).
Estimates may be provided in your application, but bid contracts are required prior to finalizing the development
agreement.
5. IMPORTANT
Applications must be received at least 15 days prior to the next NSURB board meeting and in conjunction with an
Application to the City Planning Department. This is to allow adequate time to place the item on the NSURB meeting
agenda and for a thorough staff review of the application for presentation to the North 7th Urban Renewal Board. Approval
for N7Rehab funding does not guarantee approval from other City Departments. Failure to receive approvals from
applicable City Departments before beginning construction will result in the revocation of project funding award under this
program.

NORTH SEVENTH URBAN RENEWAL DISTRICT SUBMITTAL NARRATIVE
Gallatin Valley Furniture Carpet One, located at 923 North 7th street, is proposing to upgrade
their buildings façade, landscaping and building approach to contribute to the rehabilitation of
the North 7th Urban Renewal District.
We are proposing:
· Landscaping update approach along North 7th and Juniper Street.
· 160 lineal feet along North 7th façade, 216 lineal feet along Juniper Street update:
o Demolition of existing exterior finish
o New double pain, low-e insulated aluminum storefront systems.
o New parapet walls to cover double gable end walls and roof line with Brick
veneer, Stucco finish, and vertical corrugated metal wall panel.
o Steel framed canopy at entry doors, with cedar T&G soffiting.
o New signage on building façades.
· Demolition of roof top elements not in service, and replace RTUs with new units to be
screened from view.
· Reroof entire building with single ply PVC membrane, with new cricket redirecting roof
drainage.
The proposed façade update and revised landscape will enhance the quality of the pedestrian
experience along North 7th Avenue frontage. The simplified landscaping will minimize visual
clutter along the North 7th corridor. The new sidewalks and entryways will accommodate
pedestrians and bicyclists. The new façade will provide a stronger relationship between the
building and the street through a stronger entry presence on both North 7th Avenue and the
east portion of the Juniper Street frontage. The goal of the revised façades is to create a
building design that adds interest as seen from the road and while establishing a design
compatible with the local Bozeman character. The new parapet walls hiding the two-building
gable look will create a building design that has a feeling of more than one story that helps
define the commercial edge of the entryway corridor.
