HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-11-19 8 Bozeman, Montana November 19th, 1958 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Clty Hall Building, iNednesday afternoon, November 19th, 1958, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Present were Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last reg~lar session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner I Swanson, seconded by Mayor Erwin that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Swanson: t'.lose votlng No, none. Reports The report of the Cemetery Board for the month of October 1958 was presented. It was ~oved by Commissioner Swanson, secJnded by Mayor Erwin, that the report be accepted and ordered filed, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Swanson; t hos e v ot:i ng No ,C:Q.one . Agreements - Forest Service - Bozeman Creefe Watershed - Mystic Leke Road Two agreements between the U. S. Forest Service and theCity of Boze-:lan were presented. The first or basic agreement relates to development of roads, harvest~_ng of timber, rights-of-way for either party to the agreement from the other party and ~or any future development or utilization of natural resources within the Bozeman Creek (Sourdough) water shed as specifically described in the agreement. The second agreement, which 1s supplemental to the first agreement, relates to con- struction of a road to Mystic Lake and sets forth the responsibilities, rights and I privileges of each of the parties to the agreement in and to construction, mai.ntenance and use of this road. The agreements were approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was mo ved by Commis s ioner Swanson, seconded by Mayor Erwin, that these agreements be approved and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign them for theCity of Bozecran, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vo~ing Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Claims Claims Nos. 3275 to 3277 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Parking Meter $,76.33 SDS Revenue $103.95 Street *? 35').64 The Manager stated that these [lre true and lawful claims against the City and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After e 'CBminat ion of the clalcns in detail by the Cornrnlssio"!, it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Mayor Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their payment, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. I Lincoln Street Closing A communiclltion from theCity-Gounty plan Board was read stating that, after con- sidering the petitions for the closing of Lincoln Street from Grand Avenue to the alley between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, they recommend that no action be taken on the peti- tions until officials of Montana. State College and the petitioners present an acceptable plan either for extension of existing streets and alleys south from Lincoln Street through Montana State College property expected to be used for "Faculty Housing" or 9 for satisfactory development of Lincoln Street. Action on the petitions was deferred until a later date. Adjournment There being no further business to corne before the Commission at this time, it was moved by CommissIoner Swanson, secmded by Mayor Erwin that the meetlng ad.journ and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vottng Aye being Mayor Erwin I and Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. . .
