The Conmission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, December 17, 1958, at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Erwin,
Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Berg, City Manager Henderson and the Clerk. The following proceed-
ings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded I
by Commissioner Berg, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg;
those voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 808 - Abandoning Portion Alley in Block C, Original Plat
A hearing was held on September 3, 1958 on Resolution No. 915, which declared the intention of the
Commission to vacate the west 96 feet of the alley in Block C, Original Townsite of Bozeman. No
protests having been filed on the proposal and all procedure now having been completed for an alley
in the blook differently loos;ted and in lieu of the rart being vacated, the City Attorney, as instructed,
has prepared OrdiMnce No. 808, entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, II>IlTlNA, VACATDlG A PORTION OF AN ALLEY IN BLOCK "en,
ORIGINAL TOWNSITE OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, JDNTANA", which was presented at this time.

It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the ordinance be passed
and adopted, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Zoning - Proposed Amendments to the Ordinance
Need for revision of existing zoning regulations was disoussed at length. Commissioner Berg I
had prepared. 'a il..oftLJldtml on the subjeot which cited many things which need to be added to or changed
in present J'tlgolatiOJ18. Rather than to wait until present zoning ordinances can be rewritten and
consolidated into a single ordinance to include all reconmtended revisions or additions, the City Attom~y
was instructed to prepare another amending ordinance to the three ordinances now in effect on zoning
which will include those parts of Camn1ssioner Berg's memorandum which are considered of first priority
and to present suoh ordinance for consideration of the Camn1ssion at the earliest practicable date.
Commissioner Swanson Asked to be Excused and Permission was granted
Manager to Attend I,egislative Committee Meeting
A meeting of the Legislative Committee of the Montana. Municipal League will be held in Helena
on December 29th, 1958. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Mayor Erwin, that the Manager
be authorized to attend this meeting and his expenses be paid from. the General Fmd, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Berg;
those voting No, none.
Re-arrangement of Block D, Ma.rwyn Re-arrangement
As requested by the City Commission, the City-County Planning Board has reviewed the proposal of
Dr. R. A. Williams to re-plat or re-a.rrange Block D of the Marwyn Rearrangement of a portion of Northern I
Pacific Addition to the City of Bozeman. The Planning Board recommends that the right-of-way width
for the short portions of Olive Street and McAdow Avenue proposed to be established in the block be
reduced fran 60 feet to 50 feet and that right-of-way width of Curtiss Street abutting this block on
the south be increased a corresponding 10 feet. It was moved by Mayor Erwin, seconded by CoJDmissioz:ter
Berg, that recommendations of the Plarming Board be accepted and that Dr. WlJH... be informed that,
when he presents a completed plat in required fom in accordance with the preliminary plat he has
presented and to include the suggested changes in right-of-way widths, such a plat for the said Blook

Dwill he approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Change of Name of Part of Western Sub-di vision to Far Western Sub-di vision
A request from Sim-Gra! Corporation to change the name of their portion of the Western Sub-
division to Far Western Sub-division was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded
by Mayor Erwin, that, subject to the owner furnishing a corrected contract for deed for lots for
I park purposes in accordance w.l.th the new name, the request be approved and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Berg; those
voting No, none.
Appointments -Library Board
Mayor Erwin announced the re-appointments of John Shively and Mrs. M. G. Burlingame for a
two-year tem. on the Ubrary Board. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Mayor Erwin,
that the appointments be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting AYe being Mayor ~n and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to came before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Conimissioner Berg, seconded by Mayor Erwin, that the meeting adjourn and the motion 1118.8 carried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin and Commissioner Berg;
those voting No, none.
