The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 29 October 1958, at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Erwin, Commissioner
Swanson, Commissioner Berg, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Acting Clerk. The
~ following proceedings were had:
I Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by
,,;. Commissioner Swanson, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following
; , . Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those
voting No, none.
Petition to Vacate a Portion of Lincoln Street
A petition, eearing 19 signatures, requesting that Lincoln Street, between Third Avenue and the
north-south alley between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, be vacated was presented and read. Action was
deferred pending further stuqy and recommendations by the City Engineer.
Reports
The report of th~ Director of Finance for the month of August, 1958 and the report of the water
Collector for the month of October, 1958 were presented. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson,
seconded by Commissioner Berg, that these reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting AYe being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson
and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Purchase of Copper Pipe
The Water Department having an immediate need for an additional supply of 3/4 inch copper pipe,
"',1'- " it \\as moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the City Manager be authorized
to place an immediate order for 2040 feet of such copper pipe and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg;

Application for Advance for Public Planning
Resolution No. 933 was presented, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOH. IN
BEHALF OF SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN, 'IO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE UNITFD STATES FOR AN ADVANCE
TO AID IN FINANCING ENGINEERING SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR EXPANSION, EXTENSION AND IMPROVEMENT
OF THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM AND SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITIES OF THE SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN.
It was moved by Commissionel'kBerg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that Resolution No. 933 be
adopted and the motion was carried by the following AYe and No vote: those voting AYe being Mayor
Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Right-of-way Agreements for Deaconess Tract Water Pipeline
Due to a change in the alignment of the proposed water pipeline connecting with the city's
present 24" water transmission line and to serve the Hyalite Re-arrangement of the Western Union
Addition to the City of Bozeman, it has been determined that the land described in Grant of Easement,
'.' dated October 13, 1958, from R. R. and Mary W. Renne to the City of Bozeman, does not properly
,', describe the ~round owned by Mr. & Mrs. Renne in which this pipeline is to be installed. There was,
" therefore, presented a quit claim deed from the City of Bozeman to R. R. and Mary W. Renne to offset
that grant of easement and, in lieu thereof, there were two Grants of Easement, dated October 29,
1958, presented from R. R. and Mary W. Renne to the City of Bozeman for right-of-way for this water
line as it is now to be installed.
It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the Mayor and Clerk be
authorized to sign the Quit Claim Deed described herein and that the two new Grants of Easement be

approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following ~ye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Defining "Trailer Courts"
Recent correspondence with the Montana State Board of Health seeking an acceptable definition,
applicable to zoning, of what constitutes a trailer court and other publications on the subject were
presented and discussed and the City Manager was directed to conduct a further study of this matter.
Adjournment I
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following ~ve and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson
and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
