Subject: "NO!" to Bozeman as a Sanctuary City
Dear Bozeman City Commission,
My family and I are very disturbed by the recent advocacy movement to make Bozeman a
"Sanctuary City". As public servants you all have a duty to ensure the safety of this community.
In many ways, such safety is the basis of why so many young families choose to relocate here.
It is the foundation of the vibrant nature of her community and should be protected to the
same extent that we go to insure clean water, clean hair and responsible development. While I
sincerely empathize with the unfortunate struggles of refugees and immigrants, I would not
sacrifice the safety of my family or this community to accommodate such circumstances. There
are many other ways that our community might come together to support these poor souls.
I would strongly encourage you to unanimously oppose any proposition that would make
Bozeman a "Sanctuary City".
Sincerely,
Richard E. Popwell, Jr., M.D.
