This being the time designated by law (Section ~1-3249), R.C.M., 1947
and Chapter 2.08 of the Bozeman Municipal Code for the reorganization of the
City Commission in accordance with the results of the Regular Municipal
Election held November 5th, 1963, the City Commission met at 10:00 o'clock
A.M., January 6, 1964, in the Commission Room, City Ha~l Bul~ding for
organization purposes and the transaction of unfinished business. Present
were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner=
elect Don M. Langobr, Jr., City Manager ~utting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie,
City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following
proceedings were had:
Minutes of the ~ast regular session were read and it was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes as

read and corrected by approved and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner
Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Bond & Contract
S.I.U., No. 432 (West Side Sewer)
The contract documents for construction of the improvements of Special
Improvement District No. 432, as awarded to Haggerty-Messmer Company, Bozemam,
Montana, on November 13, ~963 were presented. 1he City Manager stated the
contract had been prepared and reviewed by the engineers, the documents had
been approved as to form by the City Attorney, bonds for the District had
been sold and that authorization for the award of the contract had been
received from the Federal Water Po~~ution Control Agency. In concurrence
with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner
Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the bond and contract be approved
and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and directed to
sign the contract for the City. The motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and
Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.

Presentation of Aerial Map of Bozeman
Montana State Highway
George Sime of the Montana State Highway Department appeared and pre-
sented a 4' x 5' aerial map of Bozeman to Mayor Staudaher for the City.
City Manager Cutting called attention to the indicated date of September 5,
1963, on which the picture was taken. Mayor Staudaher accepted the map with
an expression of apprecia tion arid. the hope tha t the Ci ty of Bozeman would
continue to receive the excellent assistance and co-operation being extended
by the Montana State Highway Department in the solving of Bozeman's various
City projects. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner

Sedivy, that the City accept the map on behaLf of the citizens of Bozeman and
that an appropriate expression of appreciation be directed to the State Highway
Department. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy;
those voting No, none.

Reorganization of City Com~ission
This was the time and place set by Montana Statute for the reorganization
of the City Commission as per the reSULts of the regULar municipal elections
held in 1961 and 1963. All unfinished business to be brought before the
Commission having been conCluded, the City Manager reported that W. W. LeSSLey,
District Judge, had approved the offical bonds and oaths of office of
Don M. Langohr, Jr., newly elected City Commissioner, and Edmund P. Sedivy,
re-elected as City Commissioner, for four-year terms commencing January 6, 1964,
and that said bonds and oaths of office are on file at the office of the
County Clerk and Recorder.

Retiring Mayor Staudaher commended the Manager's office and department
heads and expressed his apprciation for their efforts during his term and
then reviewed some of the City's accomplishments and unfulfilled needs; he
then turned the Mayor's gavel over to incoming Mayor Morrow, and Edmund P.
Sedivy and Don M. Langohr, Jr. were seated as City Commissioners. Mayor
Morrow further reviewed the outstanding accomplishments obtained under
Fred Staudaher's leaderShip and concluded by presenting Mr. Staudaher an
engraved "Key to the City" as a token of appreciation for his splendid services
during his term as City Commissioner and Mayor.
Authority for the Mayor to Sign-Documents Pertaining to Projects with Federal
Participation (SID No's. 425, 426 and 432 - ~anitary Sewers)
In conformity with the reorganization of the City Commission as of this
date, January 6, 1964, the City Manager stated that it is now necessary for
the COMmission to authorize incoming MayorR. Harry Morrow to sign documents
pertaining to projects with Federal participation to include specifically
the following:
WPC Montana 64, SpeCial Improvemen t District No. 425
WPC Man tans 65, Special Improvement Dis tric t No. 426
WPC Montana 72, SpeCial Improvemen t Dlstric t No. 432

It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by 'Commissioner Langohr,
that the authority be granted to Mayor R. Harry Morrow to sign the documents
pertaining to the above projects in behalf of the City of Bozeman, Montana.
The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this
time it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy,
