Message: I want to express my displeasure with the possibility that the commission would even
consider becoming a sanctuary city. The main responsibility of the commission is the safety of
the city’s citizens. There is a reason people who come into the US without following our
immigration laws are called illegal. As representatives of the city citizens you are responsible for
following not only the laws of our city but the laws of our nation. You cannot decide which laws
you will follow and which ones you will not. It appears people who favor a sanctuary city do
realize there is a difference between those who become immigrants by following the laws and
those who illegally enter our country. Not all illegals are saints as the proponents would like you
to believe (do some research). Again, I urge you to follow our nations laws and put the safety of
the city’s citizens first.
