Message: Re:Sanctuary City Status--. Reasons NOT to declare Bozeman a Sanctuary City-- It
violates Federal Law. Bozeman’s unemployment rate is less than 3%; does not have
affordable/subsidized housing; is already trying to find funds for 2 high schools let alone funds
for additional translators, classrooms, etc. Our medical services will be burdened by those unable
to pay, and result in increased medical charges for those who can pay. Voters rejected a new The
Law & Justice Center. When the illegal immigrants cannot find housing, in Bozeman, they
migrate into the outlying areas. Higher risk of traffic accidents by uninsured illegals will occur.
Belgrade wants to hire 2-3 more law enforcement. Recognize this is another “spontaneous”
group who press their agendas on local communities to get their political desires passed because
they can’t get them passed any other way. Please say NO to Sanctuary City status. I live in
Belgrade and NOT in Bozeman, your decision on this matter affects me too.
