HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-02-26 Bdzeman, Montena February 26, 1964 1 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, February 26, 1964 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Father Edward Courtney, Chaplain of the Newman Club at Montana State College, opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the la~t regular session were read and it was moved by Commis- sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Au thori ty to Purchase 500', 3" Fire Hose (Fire Department) The City Manager reported the Fire department has need for 500 feet of 3" fire hose to provide additional hose and for replacement of old hose as needed. In accordance with the request of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City Manager be authorized to purchase the hose as requested at a total approximate cost of 1 $900.00 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No- vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Authority to Purchse 9'50',1%" Fire Hose (Fire, Park & Water Depts.) It was reported the Fire, Park & Water departments have need for 950' of Ii" fire hose to provide additional hose and for replacement of old hoses as needed. In accordance with the request of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the Ci ty Manager be authorized to purchase the 950 feet of hose at an approximate cost of $850.00. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Continuation of License Bonds George Norman (Plumbing & Gas Fitter) In compliance with Chapter 16 of the Bozeman rfunicipal Code, the continu- atlon certificates for the plumbing and gas fitter bonds of George Norman, Belgrade, Montana, were presented. The City Manager stated the Building Inspector had recommended the continuation of the bonds and the certificates had 1 been approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner 'Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the continuation of the afore- mentioned bonds be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commis- sioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Authority to Call for Bids 3/4 Ton Pickup Truck (Water department) The City Manager reported that the purchase of a new 3/4 ton pickup truck for use by the Water department had been included in the current budget and 415 41.6 requested that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "Call for Bids" for the new unit less and allowance from the bid price for the trade-in It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish the "Call for Bidslt as 1 of an older model truck and a Dodge coupe now used by the Water department. specified for an opening date of March 25, 1964. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commis- sioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Reports The foD_owing January, reports were presented: Director of Finance Cemetery The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
