The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the
Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, March 11, 1964 at 1:0u o'cLock

p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City
Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Frys1ie, Acting City Attorney CharLes F.
Angel and the Clerk.
Reverend H. R. Anderson, Jr. of the First Presbyterian Church opened the
meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minu tes of the las t regular session were read and it was moved by Commis-
sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes be approved
as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr;
those voting No, none.
Discussion of Daylight Savings Ti~e
E. B. Pergram
E. B. ~egram, manager of the Bozeman Theatres, appeared to inquire as to
what attitude the City Commission expected to take in regard to daylight savings
time adoption in Bozeman and to again point out the detrimental effect daylight
savings time would have on the attendance of outdoor theatres during the summer

season. Mr. ~egram was informed tha t the program was s till under study by the
ComMission and no action W0111d be taken until after this matter had been dis-
cussed at the Montana Municipal League meeting to be heLd in Helena on
March 13, L964.
Application for "Major Case School"
Montana Police Academy
It was reported that the "Major Case iJchool" conducted by the Montana
Police Academy is scheduled to be held April 19th thru the 25th at Mon tana
State College and Chief of Police Saunders has requested authorization to submit
the application of Sgt. Rex M. Duncan to attend the school. The City Manager
s ta tad he had au thorized submission 0 f the applica tion and recommended tha t if
Sgt. Duncan is accepted as a candidate, his attendance to the school be approved
and that, it being in the ptlblic interest, his expenses as a student be charged
against the General fund. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by
Commissioner Sedivy, that the recommendation of the City Manager be approved
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those
voting No, none.

Authority to Travel
Municipal Lea cue Meeting
It was reported the Montana Municipal League has scheduled a meeting to
be held in Helena, March 13th, and the City Manager requested that the members
of the City Commission and he be authorized to attend the meeting. It was
moved by Comm is sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commiss ioner Langohr, tha t au thor-
ization for the officials cited to attend the meeting be granted and, it being
in the public interst, the travel expenses incurred be paid from the General

fund. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those
voting No, none.
Daylipht Savings Time
The question of the City's introducing a daylight savings program for
the summer of 1964, was further discussed. The City Manager reported that of
approximately 600 responses to the question it appeared that about three to
one of the persons responding favored the program. Since this question is
scheduled to be discussed at the Montana Municipal League meeting on the 13th,
the matter was tabled until the next regular meeting for further discussion.

SID Funds - Gov't. Securities
It was reported by the Director of Finance that there is approximateLy
$300,000.OU currently credited to various Special Improvement District cash
balances and that a demand in an appreciable amount on the balances would not
occur until weather condjtions permit alL-out construction work on the pro-
;jects, and that he had reouested authority to invest the sums in O:>hort-term

The City Manager concurred~in the request and it was moved by Commissioner
Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the investment be authorized and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissi.oner ~edivy; those voting
No, none.
Request for Annexation
Jo-Mar Trailer Court (West Edge of Bozeman)
A letter received from Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Strozzi which requested that
the Ci ty annex their property known as the ,To-Mar 'frailer Court, or some 12

acres located in the SE"4 of Section 11, T 2 S, R 5 E, south of Highway No. 191,
and lying adjacent to the west line of the City limits was presented. In con-
currence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commis-
sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commiss loner Langohr, tha t the reque s t be referred
to the Bozeman City-County Planning Board for its consideration and recom-
mendation. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr;
those voting No, none.
Certificate of Appreciation - To The City Commission from The Junior
Chamber of Commerce
The City Manager presented a certificate received from the local and
national organization of the Junior Chamber of Commerce Which expressed the
organization's appreciation of the publiC service rendered by members of the
City Commission of Bozeman. Mayor Morrow in accepting the certificate
requested that an appropriate letter of reply be forwarded to the Junior
Chamber of Commerce.

Adjournment
~here being no further business to come before the Commission at this
time it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy,
that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and
Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
