Message: Say NO to becoming a sanctuary city!! There is no benefit to legal, documented
citizens. Sanctuary for whom?? Illegal, undocumented people. If someone breaks the law and I
help them by letting in my home, I am breaking the law! There is a huge community of my
relatives in the Manhattan/Churchill area who came to the US legally from Holland. They were
made to follow the law. Allowing Bozeman to become a sanctuary city thumbs its nose at those
immigrants who have worked hard to gain legal documented status as productive citizens.
Exactly how does this help legal documented citizens? It doesn't. It just creates more divide in
our nation. Bozeman will be known for thumbing its nose at the President of the United States
and all those who voted for him. Crime will increase, you will lose funding, MSU will lose
students, Bozeman will lose tourism. Please say NO to providing sanctuary to those breaking our
country's immigration laws.
