HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-04-29 445 Bozeman, lvlontana April 29, 1964 I The Commission of 'r'he City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday~ April 29, 1964 at l:UU o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohrl City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Mim)tes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis- sioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes as read be approved and the motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Authorization to Attend Montana Chapter of Int'l. Association of Electrical Inspectors' Conference, MissOllla - 1 & 2 May It was reported the Montana Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors has scheduled a conference to be held in Missoula, May lst & 2ndl and the City Manager recommended that City Building Inspector Don I Barrick be authorized to attend the meeting. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that Mr. Barrick be granted the authority to travel as recommended and, it being in the public interest, his expenses be charged to the General fund. The motion was carried by the follOW- ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, CommisSioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Armed Forces Da y Parade 14 Ma y 1964 A request from the Armed Forces ~arade Committee for permiSSion to conduct a parade of military units as a part of the Armed Forces Day ~rogram on 'rhursday, May 14th, at 1:00 p.m., was presented. 'l'he City Manager reported that the parade route would be identical with the route followed in previous years and that he and the Ghief of POlice concurred in recommending the request be granted. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner SediVY, that permission be granted to stage the parade as requested and the motion was carried by the fO.L10wing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting yl No, none. Report of Fireman Command School Yakima, Wash., 13-16 April Fire Chief Huber reported on his attendance and that of Lieutenant Masten at the Fireman Command School conducted at Yakima, WaShington, dur- ing April 13th thru the 16th. Chief Huber was particularly complimentary as to the manner in which the school was conducted and remarked that a new section 446 of the course pertained to the problems created by the storing and transportation of haxardous materials in cities and towns. It was moved by Co~~issioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that Chief Huber be complimented on the excel- lent manner in which he presented his report and that it be accepted and approved. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those vo ting No, none. I SIn No. 438 Sewer (Maple Terrace Subdivision) Commission Resolution No. 1116 Commission Resolution No. 1110, entitled: COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1116 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO CRE'~ATE A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS SPEC- IAL Dn.lROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 438 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CON- sTRucTING AND INSTALLING AN OUTFALL SEWER TO ALL OF' LOTS 4 THROUGH 22 INCLUSIVE OF BLOCK "A" AND ALL OF LOTS 1 THROUGH 4 INCLUSIVE OF BLOCK "B" OF THE MAPLE TERRACE SUBDIVISION, SAID SANITARY SEWER PROJECT TO INCLUDE ALL APPURTENANT WORK, INCLUDING NECESSARY PIPE LINES, MANHOLES AND OTHER NECESSARY A FPUR TENANCES. as prepared by the 'Ci ty Attorney as directed by the Commission on March 25, 1964, was presented. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner SedivYI that the resolution be passed and adopted and May 2u, 1964, be set as the date for public hearing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and Commis- sioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. I License Bond Rider ...- Ownership Change (Budd Plbg. & Heating) Jack O. Kyle On March 4, ~964, in compliance with ~hapter 16 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the continuation certificate for the gas fitter and plumbing bond of Budd Plumbing and Heating, Inc. was approved and ordered filed. An addition or rider to be attached as a part of that bond was presented, indicating the present ownership of this firm to be Jack o. Kyle, dba Budd ~lumbing & Heat- ing, Inc. In concurrence wi th the recommenda tion of the "ei ty Managerl it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, tha t the attachment of the rider and its incorporation as a part of the license bond be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sed~vy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting ~o, none. Ordinance No. 846 (Change of Names: "Kagy Lane" & "Spring Creek Drive") As directed on April 15, 1964, the City Attorney presented a proposed I ordinance prepared to accomplish the name change of the thoroughfare ~ommonly known as lIKagy Lanell to lIKagy Boulevard", and the name change of the north- west portion of "Spring Creek Drive" to "South Tracy Avenue". I ORDINANCE NO. 846 AN ORDINANCE NAMING AND DESIGNATING A CERTAIN EAST-WEST THOROUGHFARE ACROSS SOUTHERN BOZEMAN AS KAGY BOULEVARD AND CHANGING THE NA1ffi OF SPRING CREEK DRIVE FROM ITS INTER- SECTION WITH HILL STREET TO ITS JUNCTION WITH SAID KAGY BOULEVARD TO SOUTH TRACY A VENUE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND ALL PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the ordinance be provisionally passed and adopted and May 6th, 1964, be set as the date for final passage and adoption. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Law Day "U.S.A." Mayor Morrow announced he has proclaimed Friday, May 1, 1964 as Law Day "U.S.A.", in the City of Bozeman calling for all citizens, organizations, and schools to recognize this special day with suitable law observence pro- grams, ceremonies and educational activities. I Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the meeting adjourn.
