The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the
Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, May 6, 1964 at 1:00 o'clock

p.m. Present were Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr,
City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the
Clerk.
Mayor Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following pro-
ceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by
Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohrl that the minutes as
read and corrected be approved and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy
and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.
Permission to hold "White Cane" Sale
Saturday, May 9th, Bozeman
Lioness Club
Mrs. Lewis Armold and Mrs. Ted Witzel representing the Bozeman Lioness
Club appeared to request that the City grant permission for the club to con-
duct a "White Cane" sale in the City on Saturday, May 9th. In concurrence
with the recommendation of the City Managerl it was moved by Commissioner
Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that permission to conduct the sale
as requested be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and

Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Re-appointment -- Loren Hardie, Police Commissioner
Mayor Morrow announced his re-appointment of Loren Hardie as a member
of the Police Commission for a three-year term ending April 2uth, 1967.
It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that
the re-appointment be approved and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Sedivy
and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.
Authority to Invest ~lnds
It was reported that the Director of Finance had requested permission
to invest cash surpluses as follows:
a) $5,000 Cemetery Permanent Care - Gov't. BO:r:lds,
(4%), 1973.
b)
$
500 Park Land Trust Funds - Government
Series "H".

The City Manager recommended that the Director of Finance be authorized
to invest the funds in the amounts indicated and in concurrence it was moved
by 'Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the investments
as requested btl~uthorized. The motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and
Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 846 (Change of Names: "Kagy Lane" &
"Spring Creek Drive")
During the previous meeting, April 29, 1964, Ordinance No. 846, pre-

pared to change the name of the thoroughfare commonly known as "Kagy Lane" to
"Kagy Boulevardtl, and the name of the northwest portion of "Spring Creek Drive"
to "South Tracy Avenue" was provisionally passed. Ordinance .No. 846 was pre-
sented and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Langohr, that Ordinance No. 846 be finally passed and adopted and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

The following reports were presented:

The City Manager commented on each report and recommended their
approval. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Langohr, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was
carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl
Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

The City Manager commented on the claims and stated he had audited them
and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and
recommended that they be approved and the Director of Finance directed to
issue warrants in payment. After examination of the claims in detail and
checking against the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr,

seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that all claims as presented be approved and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those
voting No, none.
Candidates for Montana Law Enforcement Academy
It was reported the 19641 Montana Law Enforcement Academy has scheduled
its basic course for patrolmen to be held May lOth thru the 23rd, inclusive,

and that Police Chief Saunders desired to submit the applications of pOlice

officers George E. Jensen and Hal McDowell to attend the school. The City
Manager recommended that if accepted as candidates, the attendance of the
aforementioned officers be approved and that, it being in the public interest,
be
the expenses of the students/ charged against the General fund. It was moved
by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the recom-
mendation of the City Manager be approved and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner
Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this
time it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy,
that the meeting adjourn. The motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and
Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
