Message: I am completely against making Bozeman a sanctuary city. I implore you to consider
the consequences of such an action. Between losing funding and demonstrating that we do not
abide by the existing rules set forth to attain residency and citizenship by protecting those who
break the law, this is a dangerous precedence to set. As more illegals pour in to this "sanctuary
city" the problems would increase due to an overload on a system already unbalanced. We have
an existing shortage of low income housing. Non-citizens are not allowed SNAP. Medicaid, etc...
and they cannot work, so are you suggesting employers now also commit crimes by employing
them illegally? Or should illegals obtain and work under false documentation? If not, the crime
rate goes up, because they have to eat and provide somehow. We can be humanitarian all we
want, but becoming a sanctuary city and feeling like we did something good and then walking
away doesn't do anyone any favors, least of all our citizens.
