Message: Dear Bozeman City Commission Members, I have just been made aware of a plan by
the Gallatin Progressive Action Network, (GPAN), to meet with the Commission this evening to
introduce a draft resolution declaring Bozeman a sanctuary city. I am urging you to vote against
this measure, as I believe it will harm law-abiding citizens and immigrants, and unnecessarily tax
our resources. Bozeman has always welcomed immigrants, but as a law-abiding citizen, I wish
for immigration to happen legally. Sanctuary cities in the US have higher crime rates and larger
resource burdens. I care about the safety of my family and the safety of all families in Bozeman,
immigrant or not, but I also respect the law. The federal government has stated it will cut funding
to sanctuary cities as well. Please don’t jeopardize our wonderful, welcoming community.
