D ., No. 42 5 I 354 Bozeman, Montana October 30, 1963 The Connnission of tne City of Bozeman met in regUl.ar sessJ.on in the Commis- sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, October 3U, 1963 at 1:00 o'Clock p.m. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the .Lasl,; regular session were read and it was moved by Commis- sioner SediVY, seconded by Mayor Sljaudaher, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 1098 Pinal Passage S.I.D., No. 424 This was the time and place set for hearing protests to levying assess- ment for Special Improvement District No. 424. Affidavit of publication of Notice was presented. No one was present to protest and no protests having been filed, Resolution No. 1098, provisionallY passed and adopted at the regular meeting held October 23, 1963, was presented for final passage. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City ManaF,er, it was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commis~~ioner Sedivy, tha t the resolution be finally pas sed and adopted and the :notlon was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Examination Report of Water Department 1963 The 1963, report of the examination of the records and operations of the City Water Department prepared by H. H. Kirchhoff, C.P.A., was presented. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commis- sioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, tna t the report be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Electricians Bond R. P. Matzinger The electrician's bond of R. P. Matzinger, issued by the HartfordAccident and Indemnity Company of Connecticut was presented. The bond having been approved by the City Building Inspector and as to form by the City Attorney, it was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the bond be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Purchase of Fence Ma terial to Fence the Sou th Side of New Ci ty 'Yards The City Manager requested authorization to purchase fence material in the approximate amount of $775.00 to replace the present wooden fence on the south Side-of the new City Yards. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the authorization to purchase the material be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Parking Meters Purchase The City Manager requested that in order to continue the City's program to replace older model parking meters, he be authorized to purChase 15 new meters :from the Rockwell Company at a total approximate cost of $720.0u. It was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the purChase of the new parking meters as requested be authorized and the motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commis- - sioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Purchase of Copper Pipe The City Manager reported the City is in need of 3,OuO feet of 3/4" copper pipe at a total approximate cost of $93U.Ou. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the purchase be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Advertise for Bids for Backhoe Water Department The City Manager reported the Water Department is in need of a new and heavier model backhoe to replace the one presently in use due to excessive maintenance costs and requested authorization to advertise for bids for such new unit at an estimated cost of $lU,5UU.OU, less a trade-in Va1.118 of the pre- sent unit. It was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by CommiSSioner Sedivy, tha t authoriza tion to advertise for the call for bids as requested be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye 1 1 355 financing the proposed construction in the project. It waS moved by Commis- sioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of tne bonds of this district I 356 being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Authority to Invest Park T~lst Funds ($:5,000.00 ) The Director of Finance reported there is a $3,OUU.00 sum of Park Land Trust Funds, resulting from the sale of land in the Meadow~ark Subdivision, currently avaih\ble for investment and requested authorization to invest the amount in 3-7/8%, U.S. Treasury securities. In concurrence with the recommend- ation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner SediVY, seconded by I Mayor Staudaher, thl;;l.t authorization for the investment as requested be granted and the motion was carr~ed by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; tnose voting No, none. It was moved by Mayor staudaLer, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of the bonds of this district in the approximate amount of $34,000.00, to be received December 6th, 1963, and the motion was carried by the fo~lowing Aye and No vote : those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Bonds for S.I.D., No. 436 Bonds of Special Improvement District NQ. 436 must be sold to provide for financing the proposed construction in the project. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the Clerk of the Commis- sion be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of the bonds of this dlst- rict in the approximate amount of $2.L,750.UU, to be received December 6th, 1963, and the ~otion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye and being Mayor Staudaher!
