The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday, August 21, 1963 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor
Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City
Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy,
seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the minutes as read be approved and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Comm-
issioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Appointment of Judges and Clerks for 1963. Elections
The Clerk of the City Commission presented for the Consideration of the Commission a
suggested list of electors for appointment as Judges and Clerks for the Primary and General
elections for 1963, as follows:

It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the above

Morrow, and Commissioner Sedivy, those voting No, none.
Rural Fire Call Rates
The Commission was referred to its previous action tabling the matter of the City
Fire Department's answering fire calls received from "rural" areas until this meeting.
In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager and Ass't. Fire Chief Huber,
it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that a minimum
flat charge of $50.00 be made to the appropriate property owner for out-of-town calls
of two hours duration or less and an additional charge of $25.00 per each additional
hour or fraction thereof in excess of the two hour base charge, and in the event
previous balances are due and unpaid for fire calls to a property, no further calls
are to be made to that property. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting AJIe being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow, and Commissioner
Sedivy, those voting No, none.

Ordinance No. 842
Affidavit of publication of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal
year ending June 30, 1964 was presented together with the Appropriation Ordinance No.
842, entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 842
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR EXPENDITURES DEEMED NECESSARY AND IN
ACCORDANCE WITH BUOOETARY REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE ETC., OF THE MUNIC-
IPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
JUNE 30th, 1964.
The City Manager recommended that the ordinance be finally passed and adopted. It
was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the ordinance
be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow, and Commissioner
Sedivy, those voting No, none.
Bond & Contract S.I.D.. No. 429
The contract documents for construction of Special Improvement District No. 429, as
awarded to Long Construction Company were presented. The contract and bond were approved
as to form by the City Attorney and the City Manager stated that the contract documents

had been reviewed and approved by the engineering staff. It was moved by Commissioner
Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Norrow, that the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission
be authorized to sign the contract for the City of Bozeman and the motion was carried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner
Morrow, and Commissioner Sedivy, those voting No, none.

FROM THE SOUTH STREET LINE OF WEST BEALL STREET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF DURSTON

KNOWN AS SPECIAL IMPROvn1ENT DISTRICT NO. 436 TO THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR THE PURPOSE
OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING A WATER MAIN ON NORTH NINTH AVENUE BETWEEN BEALL
STREET AND DURSTON ROAD, SAID WATER MAIN TO BE EIGHT (8) INCHES AND OF CAST IRON AND
TO INSTALL A SIX (6) INCH CAST IRON WATER MAIN ON WEST VILLARD BETWEEN NINTH AVENUE

July 3, 1963, was presented. The City Manager informed the Commission that the installa-
tion of these water -pipe lines had been segregated from the improvements petitioned for
and contemplated by proposed Special Improvement District No. 433 as a matter of equity
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner

to the property owners involved and to permit bidding by small local contractors, and
recommended that the Commission adopt the resolution and it was moved by Commissioner
Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the resolution be passed and adopted and
September 18th, 1963, be set 8S the date for public hearing and the motion was carried

After commenting on the reports, the City Manager recommended their approval. It
was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the reports be

those voting No, none.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this timeJ it
