HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-04-24 250 Bozeman, Montana April 24, .1963 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in 'the Commis- sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, April 24, 1963 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Acting City Manager Fryslie, Acting City Attorney Char.1es F. Ange.1 and the Clerk. The fOllowing proceedings were had: Minutes of the Special Session of the Commission he.1d April 15th, 1~63, were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and tne motion was carried by the fO.1lowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaner, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Minutes of the .1as't regu.1ar session were read and it was moved by Commis- sioner Morrow, seconded by CommisSioner Sedivy, that the minutes as corrected be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Public Hearini='; Special Improvement District No. 431 This was the time and p.1ace set by Commission Resolution No. lU'/O to hear protests to the creation of Special Improvement District No. 431. Affidavit of publication of Notice and the Clerk's Mailing Certificate statingtpat all pro- perty owners had been notified as required by law were presented. One written protest representing 6.~v% of the property within the boundaries of the proposed district was presented. No one appeared to verba.1ly protest the creation of the district and the Acting City Manager recommended that the protest filed be declared insuffiCient and the City Attorney instructed to prepare a resolution to create the district. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the protest be declared insufficient , and Commission Resolution No. 1076 be passed and adopted to create Special Improve- ment District No. 431. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Authority to Travel State Park & Recreation Meeting It was reported that the State, Park and Recreational Directors' Conference is scheduled to be he.1d in Great Falls, May 4th and 5th, and the Acting City Manager recommended that City Recreational Director A. Glen White, Sup't. of City I I I Parks Thurman Cloninger, and two members of the City Recreation Board be dele- I gated to attend the meeting and, it being in the public interest, their travel expenses be paid from the Park Fund. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, sec- onded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the authority to travel as recommended be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of Marc~ 1963, were presented: Chief of Police Director of Finance Director of Public Service After commenting on the reports, the Acting City Manager recommended that the reports be approved. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the fo~lowing Aye and No vote: those vo'ting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. I Vandalism &lnset Hills Cemetery Due to the recent outbreak of vandalism in the Sunset Hills Cemetery, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that a meet- ing of the Cemetery Board should be called to immediately consider action to curb further damage to the premises and the securing of the entrance to the grounds. The motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaner, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; tnose voting No, none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at tnis time it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the meeting adjourn. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
