The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis-
sioner Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, May 15, 1~63, at 1:00 o'clock p.m.
Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, City

Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, Acting City Attorney Charles F. Angel
and the Clerk.
The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis-
sioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as
read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those
voting No, none.
Authority to Travel
Mayor and Director of Finance to Chicago (Series "8"
Water Refunding Bonds) -
The City Manager reported it is necessary that the Mayor and the Director
of Finance be present in Chicago on May 2uth to complete the sale and escrow
agreement of the Series "B" Water System Revenue Refunding Bonds. It was moved
by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the travel be author-
ized and, it being in the public interest, the expenses involved be paid from the
Water Fund. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting

Special Claims

The following special claims on the Water fund were presented:

The City Manager stated the claims represented payments due Kalman &
Company for acting as financial advisor in connection with the sale of the Water
SYB tem Refunding Revenue Bonds, Serles "B", as s tipula ted in the con trac t entered
into between the City of Bozeman and the Company on February 20, 1963, and to the
Harris Trust & Savings Bank for services rendered in the liquidation of the Series
"A" Water Revenue Bonds issued during 1957, and recommended that the claims be
approved and the Director of Finance directed to issue warrants in payment. After
examination of the claims, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commis-
sioner Sedivy, that the claims as presented be approved and the motion was carried

sioner Morrow and Commissioner SediVY; U20se voting No, none.
License Fee
Carnival Sponsored by Lions' Cblb
D. G. Dick and Lewis M. Armold of the Local Lions' club appeared to inquire
as to the license fee the t would be charged the club in connec tion wi th its spon-
sorShip of tne InLand Empire Shows during JU.Ly:ltn thru July 13th. It was moved
by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morruw, that, in view of trle

fact that net proceeds of the club's share of the proceeds of the show will be
donated to charitable purposes, the license fee be set at $300.00 for the period
wi th the unders tanding the Club wou.ld in addi tion to the license fee, bear any
expenses of special policing of the area. The motion was carried by 'the follow~
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy
and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Report on State, Park &, Recreation Meeting (Great Falls, May 4th and 5th)
City Recreational Director White and Park Superintendent Cloninger reported
on their attendance at the State, Park & Recreational Meeting at Great Falls,
May 4th and 5th. Their reports consisted of resumes of the programs, its attend-
ance and values derived by the City in having representatives at meetings of
such a nature. Mayor Staudaher extended the appreciation of the Commission on
the completeness of the reports.
Repairs (New Tracks for Traxcavator)
The Ci ty Manager reported tha t the rl'raxca va tor used in the opera tions of
the City's land-fill dump is in need of a new set of cat-tracks and comnlented
that tile 7800 hours logged on the unit is far in excess of the number of hours
normally considered to justify like repairs on similar units. As the estimated
expenditure would be in the approximate amount of $5,OOO.UO, he recommended
that the expenditure be approved and the amount charged equally to the budget
years ending June 30, 1963 and June 30, 1964. It was moved by Commissioner
Morrow, seconded by Commissioner SediVY, that the aforementioned repair be
approved as recommended and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commis-
sioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Francis E. 'vVhite Appointment as Band Director Approved
It was reported that the Bozeman Municipal Band had subject to approval
by the City Commission elected Francis E. White as band director for the 1963
season. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by CommiSSioner Morrow,
that the COITmlission approve the election of Mr. White and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Plat Sunset Heights Subdivision
The proposed plat of Sunset Heights Subdivision and a letter received from
the Secretary of the Bozeman City-County Planning Board which stated the Board
had approved the plat on April 24, 1963, was placed before the Commission. The
City Manager, in concurrence with the action of the Board, recommended that the
plat be approved and the City Manager be authorized to sign the plat as Director
of Public Service for the City. It wes moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded
by Commissioner SediVY, that the City approve the plat and the City Manager as
Director of Public Service be authorized and directed to sign for the City and
the motion was carried by the' following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those
voting No, none.

Adjournment
There be1ng no further business to come before the Commission at this
time it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow,
that the meeting adjourn. The motion was carried by the foilowing Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and
Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
