V Bozeman, Montana June 6, 1963 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, June 5th, 1963 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, I City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. The fOllowing proceedings were had: Minutes of the iast regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Plans and Specifications for S.I.D., No. 427 Bid for S.I.D., No. 427 Plans and specifications covering the proposed improvements in Special Improvement District No. 427 prepared by Harold Hoskins and Associates, super- vising engineers, were placed before the City Comm.ission. The Ci ty Manager stated the engineer's estimate of the cost of the construction in the district is $33,0'78.7U, and recommended that the plans and specifications be approved and that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "Call for Bids". It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the plans and speCifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be dir- ected to publish a "Call for Bids" on the proposed improvements for District No. 427 for an opening date of June 26, 1963. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commis- I sioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Plans and Specifications for S.I.D., No. 428 Bid for S.I.D., No. 428 Plans and specificiations covering the proposed improvements in Special Improvement District No. 428 prepared by Harold Hoskins and Associates, super- vising engineers, were placed before the City Commission. The City Manager stated the engineer's estimate of the cost of the construction in the district is $51,811.82, and recommended that the plans and specifications be approved and that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "Call for Bids". It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the plans and specifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "Call for Bids" on the proposed improvements for Dis tric t No. 428 I for an opening date of June 26, 1963. The motion was carried by the fOilowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Plans and Specifications for S.I.D., No. 429 Bid for S.I.D., N6. 429 Plans and specifications covering the proposed improvements in Special 265 I Improvement District No. 429 prepared by HaroLd Hoskins end Associates, super- vising engineers, were p.1eced before the City Commission. The City Manager stated the engineer's estimate of the cost of the construction in the district is $34,~B6.2U, and recommended that the p.1ans and specifications be approved and tha t the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a nCall for Bids". It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the plans and specifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "Call for Bids" on the proposed improvements for District No. 429 for an opening date of June 26, 1963. The City Manager stated the engineer's estimate of the cost of the construction in the district is $19,750.27, and recommended that the plans and specifications be approved and tha t the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "CaJ..l for Bids". The City Manager stated the engineer's estimate of the cost of the construction in the district is $9,167.76, and recommended that the plans and specifications be approved and that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "CaLL for Bids". It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the I plans and specifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be directed to publish a "Call for Bids" on the proposed improvements for District No. 431 for an opening date of June 26, 1963. The motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Bonds for S.I.D., No. 427 Bonds of Special Improvement District No. 427 must be sOLd to provide for financing the proposed construction in the project. It was moved by Commis- sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of bonds of this district in the Bonds of Special Improvement District No. 428 must be sold to provide for financing the proposed construction in the project. It was moved by Commis- sioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of bonds of this district in the I 266 approximate amount of $33,5UO.UU, to be received July 9th, 1963, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Bonds for S.I.D., NO. 428 approximate amount of $52,000.uO, to be received July 9th, 1963, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Bonds for 8.1.D., No. 429 Bonds of Special Improvement District No. 429 must be sold to provide for financing the proposed construction in the project. It was moved by Commis- sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of bonds of this district in the approximate amount of $35,000.uu, to be received July 9th, 1963, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Bonds for S.I.D., No. 430 Bonds of S.pecial Improvement District No. 43U must be sold to provide I for financing the proposed construction in the project. It was moved by Commis- sioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Clerk of the Commission be directed to advertise for bids for the sale of bonds of this district in the approximate amount of $20,000.UU, to be received July 9th, 1963, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Bonds for 3.1.D., No. 431 Bonds of Special Improvement District No. 431 must be sold to provide for financing the proposed construction in the project. Display Parking of "MSC" Mobile Campus Montana Extension Service It was reported that the Montana Extension Service of Montana State College had requested that permission be granted to park the "MSC" Mobile Campl.f.s ~n front 13 th (Corre c tion - 6L12[63) of the Mon tana Power Offices, June.ll th thru the ~M., and the Ci ty Manager reco- mmended that the request be granted, contingent upon approval of tne Montana Power Company, that provisions be made by those operating the exhibit that the area around the trailer be maintained in a clean and orderly manner during the period and all operations be co-ordlnated with the police department as in 1962. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the above request be granted as recommended by the Ci ty Manager and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Request Exchange Club (Fourth of July Fireworks Program) It was reported that the Bozeman Exchange Club had requested permission to stage its annual 4th of July fireworks display in the area of the former Bozeman Country Club, in accordance with the same agreement as granted by the City to the Club in 1962. The City Manager recommended that the permission to stage the dis- play, as requested, be granted and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner SediVY, that the permission be granted as recommended and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: tnose voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. 267 268 Offer to Purchase Lots 6 & 7, Bloclc 4, Western Subdivision (Alex Weaver) It was reported that Alex Weaver had offered to purchase Lots Six (6) and Seven (7), Block Four (4), of the Western Subdivision, or land deeded to the City in lieu of dedicating land for park purposes by Mr. Weaver when the sub~ division was platted. The City Manager stated that the City had been placed at an expense of $254.34 as its share of the adjacent street oiling project and recommended that the City offer a counter proposal for the sale of the lots at '1,854.34. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the City Manager be authorized to offer the counter proposal as recommended and the motion was carried by the fO.1.lowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; I those voting No, none. Authority to Purchase Cushman Truckster (Police Departmen t) The City Manager reported that the motor tricycle used by the Police department is in poor mechanical condition and should be replaced by a new unit. He requested that, in accordaince with the recommendation of the Police department, he be authorized to place an order for the purchase of a "Cushman Truckster" at an approximate cost of $930.00. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that authorization for the purchase of the unit be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Bond Continuation License Bond . ~- Anderton Electric Chuck Primmer I A contina tion certifica te issued by the Ilome Indemni ty Company to con tinue in force its Bond No. (N 33 23 7u) on behalf of George B. Anderton, dba Anderton Electric, and the License Bond of the Standard Accident Insurance Company in behalf of Chuck Primmer, as a gas fitter, were presented for approval. The City Manager stated the Building Inspector recommended approval of the documents which were approved as to form by the City Attorney, and it was moved by Commissioner \ ' Sedivy, seconded by Commi.ssioner Morrow, that the aforementioned continuation certificate and bond be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. After examination of the claims in detail and checking against the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that all claims as presented be approved and the motion I was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
