In the spirit of mutual cooperation and the fulfillment of common interests, the Employer and Union
desire to enter into this MOA to provide modified terms and conditions for the Engineer promotional
process to be conducted in February 2017, to ensure we have at least two (2) qualified candidates to
compete for the vacant Engineer position.
Between January 30, 2017 and February 1, 2017 BFD personnel who met the service time requirements

candidates responded with no interest in the position, with the fourth eligible candidate being off duty.

This MOA will supplement and amend the existing collective bargaining agreement between the
City of Bozeman and the IAFF Local 613 Bozeman Firefighters' (2016 — 2018) but shall only apply
for the current promotional process to the position of Engineer in February 2017. Future
