The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the
Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, January 9, 1963 at 1:00 atolock
p.m. Present were Mayor'Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy,
City Manager Cutting, AS8tt~ City Manager Fryslie, Acting Oity Attorney Angel
and the Clerk.

The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by
Oommissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be
approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Oommissioner

Authority to Purchase Recording Flow Meter
The'Clty Manager reported that the original recording sewage flow meter
at the sewage disposal plant, declared ~bsolete in 1956, is agin out ot service
and requested authority to place an order for a new and modern unit at an
approxima te net cost of $950.au. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded
by Commissioner Sedivy, tba t the purchase of the uni t be a pproved and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Staudaher, CommlssionerMorrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Authority to Call for Bids for Generator
It was reported that the Oityts mobile generator used tor flood lights,
welding and thawing of frozen water pipes, a~though operational, is considered
unreliable and authorization was requested to advertise for bids tor the pur-
chase of a new unit at an estimated cost of 11,500.00. It was moved by Oommis-
sioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the Clerk of the Commission
be directed to publish a call tor bids for the above mentioned equipment and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those

Hearing
Annexation of Graf's 1st Subdivision
During the regular session ot the Oity Commission held on Deoember 12th,
1962, the Commission regularly passed and adopted Commission Resolution No. 1061,
declaring its intention to extend the boundaries ot the City of Bozeman so as
to inClude a contiguous tract of land known as Grafts 1st SubdivIsIon. This
being the date for publio hearing as set forth in said Commission Resolution
No. 1061, the affidavit of publication ot. Notice was presented. No one appeared
to protest the aotion and the Commission was informed, that no written protests
were on file in opposition to the proce~ding8. Commission Resolution No. lU64,
to accomplish the extension of the City limits and complete the action was
presented, entitled:

Examination ot Depository Bonds
The Commission proceeded to examine the Custodian's Receipts for
Depository Bonds held by the Director of Finance as security tor City funds
deposited in Bozeman banks. It was moved by Oommissioner SediVY, seconded
by Commissioner Morrow, that the securities be approved and a list thereof be
set forth in full in the minutes of this meeting and the motion was carried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher,
Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.

Discussion
Maintenance of Street during Winter Fair
Howard Lewis, W. A.. Rolfe and T. Booth Holker, representatives ot the
Winter Fair Board, appeared before the Commission to report that the Fair Board
is concerned about the condition and maintenance of the access streets to the
fair grounds and Tamarack Street, which parallels the south boundary ot the
Fair Grounds. Tbe group was assured that access to the Fair Grounds has been
provided On Grand, Tracy and Black Avenues and will be maintained in the best
condition weather and ciroumstances will permit. Problema created by street
construotion in this area were explained to the group and they were advised
weather eonditions could dictate the closing ot Tamarack Street, except at
acoess points. They were further assured that it is the desire of the City
Commission to cooperate and assist with all efforts to insure the success of

Pasturing Horses .. James E. Pattee
It was reported that James E. Pattee had requested that a verbal
arrangement to pasture horses on the Old Country Club whicb he had previously
entered into with the Elks Club, be continued. It was moved by Commissioner

Pancake Breakfast

It was reported that the Chamber of Commerce had requested permission to
stage a "Pancake Breakfast"' on Black Avenue between Main and Babcock Streets,
on January 17th, during the annual winter carnlvai. It was moved by Commis-
sioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner SediVY, that permission to stage the
event be gran ted, but tha t the alley-way in the block be .left open to Bccomo-
date service trucks. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner

The City Manager commented on the Ciaims and stated he had audited them
and found them to be true an~ lawful claims against the City ot Bozeman and
reoommended that they be approved and the Director of Finance directed to issue
warrants in payment. After examination of the claims 1n detai.l, it W8S moved
by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that ali Claims as
