HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-02-13 Bozeman, Montana February 13, 1963 216 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, February 13, 1963 at i:OO o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner " Morrow, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. I . The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis. sioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Stl::l.udaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Discussion Status of the Proposed Water & Sewer Facilities to Serve the Area Recently Annexed Within the West Limits of the City of Bozeman Frank E. Hoey and R. H. Elliott appeared to discuss with City Officials the status of the proposed deveiopment and construction of water and sewer facilities to serve the area recently annexed within the western limits of the City of Bozeman. These men were advised of the progress of the proposed sewer project to serve this area and were informed that the City does not contemplate any action in regard to water service lines which must be installed by the developers. Other than an informal discussion of these utilities, no action was taken on the matter. I Consideration of Stimpson Building 26 E. Mendenhall for Housing of Fire De par tmen t The Commission was referred to a proposal that the City acquire the Stimson building located at 26 East Mendenhall to be used as headquarters for the Fire Department. A report of the Fire Chief's study of the building and its location, an estimate of costs to remodel the building and his comment that he could not recommend the building to serve as Fire Department head- quarters was presented. The City Manager concurred in the report and recom- mendation of Fire Chief Penttila, and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the Commission concur in the recom- mendation of the City Manager and the Fire Chief. The motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Request 43' Curb Cut for Proposed 4-Plex Bldg. at Grand Avenue and Arthur Street I It was reported that a request had been filed for permission to construct a 43' curb cut on the north side of Arthur Street to provide separate entrances to four garages to be constructed in connection with the proposed construction of a 4-plex apartment building at the corner of South Grand and Arthur Street. ~he matter was tabled pending further ... inves tiga tion. 217 Resolu tion Approving Second Amendment to Airport Federal Grant I The Commission was referred to its action of January 16th, 1963, in regard to a proposal to further extend the runway at Gallatin Field. In order to carry out that proposal a second Amendment to a Grant Agreement received from the Administrator, Federal Aviation Agency, United States of America, being Project No. 9-24-U03-61U5 and Contract No. FA4-1459, for the development of Gallatin Field, Bozeman, Montana, was presented for execution by the City Commission as a procedural requirement. FA4-l459, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF GALLATIN FIELD, BOZEMAN, MONTANA. I Be it resolved by the City Commission of Bozeman, Montana Section 1. That the City of Bozeman, Montana, by and through its City Commission, and Gallatin County, Montana, by and through its County Commis- sioners, shall jointly enter into the Second Amendment to the Grant Agree- ment for the purpose of obtaining Federal Aid in the development of Gallatin Field and that such agreement shall be as set forth hereinbelow. Section 2. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized and directed, to execute said Second Amendment to the Grant Agreement in sextuplet on be- half of the City of Bozeman, and the Clerk of the City Commission is hereby authorized and directed to impress the OffiCial Seal of the City of Bozeman, Montana thereon and to attest said execution. Section 3. A true copy of the Second Amendment to the Grant Offer referred to herein is attached hereto and made a part hereof. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the meeting adjourn. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
